Gravel Driveways
For longer than we can remember, traditional Gravel Driveways have provided an extremely popular option to assist in complimenting all different types of homes. Gravel provides a country-style feel and can often be matched to the stonework of your property.
Gravel driveways are one of the most common and most cost effective ways to finish a driveway or path. As the cost of stone or gravel is cheaper than other materials, it becomes an obvious choice for many customers. Gravel also requires very little maintenance which has obvious advantages with regards to its upkeep.
A well built gravel driveway, with proper care and maintenance can last up to 100 years thats why at AH Driveways we ensure that the preparation and footings are adequate enough for a long lasting finish. The base preparation is just as important as the top finish, as the base properly prepared will allow water to drain away without problems.

- Decorative edging to the driveway will provide a neater finish and keep gravel from spreading. This can be done with blocks, large rocks or even bushes.
- You can prevent weeds from popping through by laying a breathable fabric membrane down under the gravel.
- Gravel layers should be at least 3″-8″ thick.
- You can use weed-killer before laying the gravel to ensure that weeds do not grow through the gravel.
